Body Technician

Responsibilities

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.

  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received

  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work

  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed

  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time

  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair

  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer

  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials reporting any deviations to management

  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles

  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work area

  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2-5 Years of collision repair experience

  • Knowledge of automotive systems

  • Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals

  • Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information

  • Time Management skills and ability to prioritize

  • Excellent communication skills and works well in a team environment

  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment.

  • I-CAR or ASE Certifications are a bonus

  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications (Certification/Licenses/Registrations)

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Must be self-motivated and dependable.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
     

Job Type: Full-time -- Must be available to work shop business hours including nights, weekends and holidays if necessary.

Body Shop Painter

 

Job Description

The Auto body painters must communicate with shop manage, estimator and other employees to plan and execute repair and painting jobs on a variety of vehicles. The Auto body painter will be required to have knowledge of specialty painting techniques.
 

Responsibilities

  • Refinish damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards.

  • Operate and use all body shop equipment properly and safely.

  • Remove rust from metal, grease and dirt from work surfaces.

  • Prepare surfaces for new paint application using manual and power sanding tools.

  • Mix paint to match manufacturer’s color specifications.

  • Paint surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate.

  • Maintain tools and keep equipment clean and in safe working order.

  • Maintain and wear all safety and protective wear.

  • Comply with laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials.

  • Cooperate and assist other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment/ Physical Demands
You are applying to work in an automotive shop environment. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis.


Medium/Heavy Work

  • You must be able to lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required and/or frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.

  • This position will require you to be standing for prolonged periods of time

  • This position requires the ability to push, pull, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basis.

  • This position involves repetitive motion.

  • This position requires the ability to talk and hear.
